Today, we’re going to talk about the basics of Hangul:
the combinations of consonants and vowels
Hangul is a unique writing system
where consonants and vowels combine to form syllables
Understanding these combinations will really help you read and write in Korean
First, let’s take a look at the basic consonants
Each consonant has its own sound, and when these consonants combine with vowels,
they create new sounds
For example, when 'ㄱ' meets 'ㅏ', it becomes '가'
Let’s start with these simple combinations!

Today, we’ll create syllables by combining 14 consonants with 10 vowels
Consonant + Vowel Combinations
The initial and medial syllables can be combined to form basic syllables
For example:
ㄱ (giyeok) + ㅏ(a) = 가(ga) 
ㄱ(giyeok)+ ㅑ(ya)= 갸 (gya)
ㄱ(giyeok)+ㅓ(eo)=거 (geo)
Here’s the table with the specified vowels
